Come along and enjoy the fun of watching the kids develop and grow.

<--  It's a beautiful day for the kids to take their first walk out to the woods in back.

But, before we go, Itty Bitty has to pose and show how cute she is.-->
This picture is especially for Karen E.  She knows why.   :-)

<--  The kids decide to get a little early lunch before the walk, and Mom accommodates them (for a while).  Look closely at the little black face in the middle.

This is a closer look.  Bet you're wondering how he does that, huh?  -->

<--  Enough is enough.  Mom is ready for the walk.  The kids haven't quite finished their snack.

Mom shakes them loose and takes off anyway.  The kids don't wanna miss the fun.  -->

<-- Dad is showing the kids around some of his favorite places.

Neat thing about a sunny day and a good camera is that I can get some "action shots" of the kids.-->

<--  Black Sister seems to be deep in thought.

Sable Sister thinks she has been left out, so is running to catch up.  -->
Dachsund puppies are always fun when they run -- their ears look like wings.

<--  Lance strikes a handsome pose,

While Bandit is a little more exuberant.  -->

<--  Columbus is taking a little break.  Exploring takes a lot of energy.

Brown Sister seems to have energy left over.  -->

<--  Somebody got ahead of the pack and made it back to the deck first,

While the other kids stop to investigate the waterfall pond.  -->

<--  Bandit is following Mom to see where she is going.

She is introducing him to the "big water dish."  -->

<--  It was a long walk, and it's time for a nap.

While Mom and Dad take a break up on the deck.  -->

December 10, 2003 -- The kids are 10 weeks old (plus a couple of days).  Took them to the vet today for their shots and such.
Once again, the lady doctor pronounced them all to be healthy and beautiful (well, handsome for the boys).
These are their weights:
Lance --  6 1/4 lb;       Bandit --  5 lb;            Jasmine  --       5 lb;        Baby --    5 lb
Columbus  --    5 lb;     Sable --  4 1/2 lb;       Itty Bitty --  4 lb
I guess I forgot to explain to Baby that I gave her that name because she was smaller than her sable sister.  At one week old, Columbus was the runt of the bunch.  He has now caught up with everybody but Lance.

<--- IttyBitty is "adjusting" the door on the Guest House

Bandit finds a toy that somebody left out on the deck  --->

<---  Lance can always find a way to get on Mom's bad side.  She plays rough with him, and he snapped at her.  She isjust explaining the folly of that action.

Apparently he forgot, so she is "explaining" it to him again.  --->

<---  Columbus is discussing something with Bandit.

Lance has a look of resolute determination.  Wonder where he's going. --->

<--- Different ways to go down the steps:  There's the Athletic way, and the Cute way.  --->
<---  "Somehow I feel small out here in the big woods."

Mom is giving Jasmine one of those "Don't even think about it looks."  IttyBitty surrendered just at the very thought of it. --->

<--- IttyBitty is "picking on" Lance, while Mom watches.

I guess Mom thought Lance needed some help, so she bites IttyBitty's ear.  --->

<--- Two beautiful sisters:  Baby on the left.  Sable on the right.  --->

<--- Two more.  IttyBitty being cute on the left.

Jasmine being serenely contemplative on the right.  --->

<---  Columbus is "hiding" behind some brush so he can attack somebody.

Lance stops for a little rest.  --->

<---  Bandit is tracking something, then also stops to rest. --->

<--- Mom is going hunting, so the kids trail along.

The kids are learning about mole hunting.  --->

<--- Just watch dad and do what he does.  --->
(These are duplicate pictures, but I'm not gonna change them now)

<--- A day of hunting and tracking is always fun.  --->

<--- Columbus and Sable are playing "tug of war"

Columbus won -- I think.  --->

<--- Lance is showing IttyBitty how to go down the steps.

Did I mention before that these kids really like their Daddy?  --->

At this age, the kids are always fun.  The love their walks in the woods.  See them at play in the garden on Page 6.
